Devendra Banhart- Support Our Troops

This is the first version of this song, the original being by Xiu Xiu who’s latest album dropped into my pigeon hole. I can remember having a heated discussion with a fellow announcer as to whether this version was worthwhile at all. I happen to a) not be a fan of DB b) kinda like the melodic counterpoint that belies the harsh reality of the lyrics. The original is also pretty, but some hard work and not everyone’s cup of tea.
